The image shows a Creatology Weaving Loom Kit, a beginner-friendly set designed for children aged 6 and up to create a classic handmade potholder. This includes a square plastic loom, a weaving hook, and a set of stretchy colorful loops.
How to Use the Kit
The process of making a potholder generally takes about 30 minutes and follows these basic steps
Set Up the Warp: Stretch one set of loops vertically across the loom, hooking each loop onto corresponding teeth on the top and bottom edges.
Weave the Weft: Use the hook tool to weave a new loop horizontally through the vertical loops. Follow an over-under pattern across the loom.
Alternate Rows: For the next horizontal loop, reverse the pattern (e.g., if you went over the first loop last time, go under it this time) to lock the weave in place.
Finish the Edges: Once the loom is full, use a crochet-like method to bind off the edges. Take one loop off its peg, pull the next loop through it, and repeat all the way around until you can tie off the final loop in a knot
